Karen has been a realtor for over 29 years. Many hours of classes, and seminars, plus her interests and hobbies enhance her skills in the real estate business.
Born in Riverside, California, Karen lived with her Grandmother up to her Jr. High School year. She then lived with her Mother and Stepfather. He was in the Air Force, and they vacation in Japan, Philippines, China, Hawaii, while spending 3 years stationed on Guam, in the Mariannas Island's where she graduated High School. Her Father was then transferred to Vandenburg AFB and they moved to Lompoc, California.
Karen then moved back to Riverside to take care of her elderly Grandmother. She worked for the Pacific Telephone Company as a long distance operator, and helped her husband in both building and driving stock cars and drag racers. Skydiving was another sport that Karen enjoyed.
Karen moved to San Luis Obispo County, California, and as a single parent she worked long hours to provide for her family. A change in careers occurred and she found her niche in life, real estate. Assisting others in finding and obtaining their dream homes evolved into a long-term commitment. She worked toward and earned her broker's license in California and Oregon, and has received recognition for top listing and selling agent many times. She received valuable experience while working for Prudential, Century 21, and Coldwell Bankers Real Estate Companies.
In her spare time Karen would pack up her children, dogs, horses, and the local neighborhood children and head for the nearby beaches, or mountains for camping trips. She was a docent at Montana De Oro State Park helping maintain trails for horseback riders, and hikers. Other activities included president for the local woman's trail riding group "The Happy Hoofers", and she was a member of the California "Cow Bells", a local cattlewomen's group. Softball was another sport she enjoyed. She was a pitcher for local co-ed teams for many years, plus coaching her children's little league teams.
During this time Karen married her husband, Dan Raminha, who is the son of a Morro Bay ranching family. Dan had been visiting Wallowa County for many years. The first time he brought Karen, she fell in love with not only the beauty of the area, but also the warm friendly people. Wallowa County was an ideal location to call home. "It's the kind of area that just keeps pulling you back until you just have to be here full time". In the past 30 years, Dan and Karen have made life long friends in the Wallowa Valley.
Karen's real estate education includes Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), Graduate Realtors Institute (GRI), and Council of Residential Specialist (CRS), and strives to keep up with the ever-changing world of real estate by attending many different schools, seminars, and classes. One of the classes she attended was a strenuous weeklong course, which included subjects on financing, agency, client representation, and other real estate related subjects.
Currently Karen enjoys camping, horse back riding, landscaping and caring for their home on 9 acres just north of Joseph. She loves raising a large garden and canning her vegetables, and she has made over 75 lap quilts for local nursing home residents.
Karen started Hometown Hero's Support Group in 2005 when her son was deployed to Iraq. Now that he is home she continues to mail out approximately 30 boxes a month to our local soldiers serving overseas.
Karen belongs to the Wallowa County Board of Realtors, the Wallowa County Quilt Guild, Oregon Cattle Women's Association, NRA, Eagle Cap Shooters Association , Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, NW Turkey Federation, and attends the Enterprise Community Church.
In this age of new technology, Karen still believes in providing "Customer Service", and since beginning her real estate practice in Wallowa County her list of satisfied buyers and sellers have steadily grown. Everyday Karen looks forward to doing what she loves best, working with people and helping them meet their real estate needs.
If you want kind, courteous, and professional real estate service from a "super" agent with a great sense of humor -    "Call Karen"

I have lived in the Willamette Valley since 1971 and moved to Wallowa County in April of 2007.  I grew up in small communities learning the values of being a good neighbor. When you grow up with that type of mind set it makes sense that I would find careers that involve helping others.
I have always been an active volunteer with many organizations especially those that help our youth. I have three children, so setting the example to give back to the community is something I wanted to instill in them.
My background has been mainly in the fire service. I was a volunteer firefighter /medic for 15 years. During those years I became an officer and an instructor which led me to contract teaching for LBCC. I also became an active advisor for the Linn County Sheriffs Search and Rescue team. If you want to see people dedicated to volunteering; these two groups have it down! I have had many jobs over the years; hairdresser, medical assistant, youth detention officer; it seems I haven’t lost my love of learning.
I live in Joseph now with my husband Mike and our youngest son Mason. We own the R&R Drive-In which my husband runs. We enjoy hunting, camping, boating, skiing and the beauty of the great outdoors.
Real estate has been a hobby for the last 10 years, and I decided it was time to take it seriously. Being a realtor allows me to combine two things I love, helping people and the excitement of finding a really great property. If you want an agent who is genuine and has your best interest at heart then give me a call.  I would love to be your personal assistant in finding your perfect property.

Margie Shaw, Broker

Margie is a native fourth generation Oregonian, born in Forest Grove and raised on a 10 acre farm two miles from Banks.  She went to Parochial School in Roy and graduated from St. Mary of the Valley in Beaverton.  Her father was a saw filler in logging camps and her mother was a homemaker raising seven children.
After meeting Donavon Shaw, a North Plains Police Chief, he soon filled the vacancy in Enterprise as their Police Chief.  Upon finding the winters long, cold, and lonely, he asked Margie to join him as his wife and mother of his two sons.
Margie soon found that a good way to meet new people and make good friends was in volunteering for community services and has been active in assisting at Safe Harbors and Community Connections and through her church at St. Katherine's.  She has also volunteered to help with Enterprise Summerfest, Winterfest, and Mule Days.  She has been a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a member of Wallowa County Garden Club, and Economic Action Team in Enterprise.  She is also a graduate of Ford Institute Leadership Program and a 4-H sewing volunteer.  Margie is currently in her sixth year as City Councilor for the City of Enterprise, which she feels is a very fulfilling job.  She has had several jobs in Wallowa County from working for Doug Tippet to receptionist at the City of Enterprise.  The last five years she worked for Eastern Oregon Nursery.
Margie decided in 2007 to become a real estate broker, and with the support of Principal Broker Karen Raminha, passed all her courses and the real estate exam.
Margie is dedicated to helping you, as her client, meet all of your real estate needs with integrity and honesty.  Give her a call or stop by Stagestop Realty and let her help you make your dreams come true.

My wife and I recently returned to Wallowa County to enjoy all that the county has to offer. Having grown up here, it is very nice to be “home again” among family and friends. My background is primarily in agriculture, having degrees in both Agri-business and Animal Science. I have spent the last 16 years working for the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture, in a research and production setting. My wife Susie, a veterinarian at Red Barn Veterinary, and I, along with our son Connor, and daughter Addie, live north of Joseph on a small acreage just close enough to “grampas” house. We enjoy spending time in the outdoors camping, riding our horses, hiking, and visiting with family and friends. My own special interests include exploring the mountains looking for that perfect hunting spot. I believe strongly in the values of honesty and integrity, in both life and work. My goals in real estate are to assist buyers in finding the property that reflects their lifestyle and desires, and to assist sellers in finding able bodied buyers who will appreciate the value and care they have put into their property. I would love the opportunity to assist you in your real estate needs and look forward to serving you. Please feel free to give me a call.
